How do you become an Eagle?
The Society startted in 1956 following and informal meeting at the Akarana Golf Club.
It grew from that beginning to where, since 1978, there has been an Eagles Golfing Society in each golf district throughout New Zealand together with a coordinating Nation Executive body.
Some districts have a limit on the number of Eagles they have, Nelson/Marlborough Soceity does not. It is desirable that each club have at least one Eagle Member.
Admission to membership is by invitation only, extended by the Society to mena and women identified for their service to the game who will embrace and promote the Society objectives.
The Red Jacket
The jacket and monogram were designed by Brian Osmand, one of the founders, who became a life member and Patron of the New Zealand Gofling Eagles Society.
The distinctive attire has remained unchanged for over 40 years. The Eagles are proud wearers of it and feel privileged to be able to serve and enjoy this great game.
Our current Eagles are: Ron Adams, Graeme Daines, John Anderson, Mike Gardiner, Brent Baker, Jane Ingram, Mike McDonald, Blue Arthur
